----------*ORGANIC GARDEN INTEREST MEETING*------------------
-----------TODAY @ 2 p.m. in Oliver Barnard----------------
For anyone who wants to get his or her hands in the not-yet-dirt that MAY be part of an organic garden on campus, try to attend a meeting at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Oliver Barnard (brick building next to Gorgas). You'll get the lowdown on the PLOT to bring a green space where fruits and veggies can be grown without the use of pesticides. Other uses for the garden--including its research function and the possibilities of incorporating a display and/or performance space--will also be discussed.
-----------*GET PAID TO PROMOTE RECYCLING*-------------------
SGA is currently hiring ENVIRONMENTAL AMBASSADORS who will work to increase the visibility of the new stadium recycling program among University of Alabama fans during home football games. Ambassadors will be provided t-shirts and monitor recycling receptacles to prevent fans from filling them with trash.
Workers will be PAID $7 per hour and are expected to work 5 hours (kick-off until one hour after the conclusion of the game). Game times will vary. By applying you are stating you WILL work regardless of the game's start time. Employment WILL BEGIN OCTOBER 4TH.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY SEPTEMBER 30 BY 4:00 PM.
If you are interested in applying for the position, stop by the SGA office (230 Ferguson Center) or visit the SGA website.
