-----------*GLASS RECYCLING DRIVE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED------------
Drop off your CLEAN glass or help collect it this Friday (Sept. 26) between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the upper parking lot of the Student Recreation Center (on 5th Avenue, across the street from the softball fields--look for the sign). Be sure to bring your CLEAN glass in a container that will not rip.
If you've ever been turned away from a UAEC glass recycling drive because the truck was full, consider taking a load to Birmingham yourself. The four people who have volunteered their vehicles to transport glass may not be enough to carry all that is collected this Friday, so if you happen to be driving to Birmingham this weekend and would like to carpool a few bags of glass along with you, please contact Mika Carpenter at mikacarpenter@aol.com.
Directions to the Glass Recycling facility in Birmingham:
From Tuscaloosa, take I-20/59 NORTH to Birmingham
When you reach Birmingham, take the CARAWAY BLVD. exit
Turn LEFT on Caraway Blvd.
Turn RIGHT onto 2ND AVE. N.
The AEC recycling center is straight ahead, on your left on the corner of 25th St. and 2nd Ave.
